There are many interesting places to see in Buenos Aires. Let’s start from the most colorful one.

La Boka and Caminito street

La Boka is, perhaps, the brightest district of the city. Houses in streets are painted in the different colors. There is everything dances on the streets, songs, paintings, cafes and restaurants. It’s truly touristic and does not transfer atmosphere of Buenos Aires, which somewhere very poor. However, it looks like a place created by optimistic people and definitely worth to see it.

Here was the first city port. Many years ago here lived black slaves. At the end of 19 centuries, European immigrants created a modern quarter of it. People painted the houses in different colors, not because of the good life. Simply they didn’t have enough of the pain, they used leftover from the painting the ships and there was only a little left. So the door could be blue and the roof could be red.

After a time, it became a feature of La Boca and local people intentionally painted the buildings choosing bright colors.

When I was there, they had an exhibition of the Chinese artist. In front of the building were few tables where everyone could come and learn how to draw like an artist. Take a paper and split it into two parts. At the bottom you draw the place which mean something for you. then imagine that there will be a big event and at the top you draw a big firework.

Next up to the north is San Telmo area with it antique shops, colonial architecture and ancient churches. The best day to go there is Sunday when it holds an antique market and local people sell everything.

La Recoleta Cemetery

The end of the day can be finished at… cemetery. One of the most known world cemeteries is the Cementerio de la Recoleta. It’s full of crypts and the mausoleums which are work of the well-known architects and artists.

There are no usual tombs in Recoleta it is more similar to the architectural exhibition. Better to go there at the cloudy evening, gives more horror feeling.
